MSP CalculatorThree ways to be involved with a mandi
Tier 1 — Sell your own crop
Free · no licence needed
Bring your own produce to sell — either in the open auction via a licensed commission agent, or through government MSP procurement. For MSP you usually need KYC + verified land records; some states also issue a token/registration for the procurement window.
Tier 2 — Trade as licensed trader/agent
Licence required · fee varies
Commission agent / wholesale trader licence from the Delhi APMC (DAMB) committee.
Tier 3 — Own a private mandi
Serious capital · for FPOs/investors
Not typically applicable for new private yards within Delhi; trading is through existing DAMB mandis.

How selling actually works in Delhi NCR
Delhi is a consumption/trading hub. Sellers are mostly licensed arhtiyas/traders under DAMB; farmers typically sell in their home-state mandis and traders move produce to Delhi.
MSP procurement agency: N/A for Delhi markets (foodgrain procurement is in producing states).
Legal commission rate: Commission for perishables up to ~6% (often contested); market fee ~1% — verify the notified rate.
eNAM integration: eNAM status unverified for Delhi — Azadpur trades via DAMB; verify on enam.gov.in — approx.
What they don't tell you — know your rights
- • Azadpur is Asia's largest perishable hub — commission, hamali and 'dhada' charges stack up.
- • Farmers from UP/Haryana report delayed payments at Delhi arhtiyas.
- • Price opacity between gate entry and final wholesale quote.
- • Protect yourself: always take and keep the official weighment slip (parchi) and the auction bill for every sale — it is your proof in any dispute. Anything charged beyond the legal commission rate can be reported to the Market Committee.
