How many days
LL: take the preliminary test, and attends the concerned RTO on the appointed date with required documents. DL: Apply 30 days after LL. DL card: Delivery time: The physical licence is sent according to the applicable government process; delivery time can vary.

Anyone 16+ for gearless two-wheeler LL; 18+ for cars / geared two-wheelers.

Important warnings
- • Avoid unauthorized agents or anyone offering a licence without the RTO test. Use only the official Sarathi/Parivahan portal. Buying a licence without a test can be a criminal offence.
- • Wear a helmet / seatbelt during the test and follow the examiner's instructions.
- • Renew DL before expiry to avoid late fee (Rs. 300 after grace + Rs. 1,000 per year of delay).

Open parivahan.gov.in > Sarathi Seva > Apply Online > New Learner License.

Fill Form 2 with vehicle class (MC 50cc / LMV / MCWG).

Upload documents. Pay Rs. 150 (licence) + Rs. 50 (test) per class.

Take the online LL test (20 questions, need 60% to pass). Can retake if failed.

After the LL is issued, practise driving for 30 days.
